"The past year has been hugely challenging in more ways than one but I am so proud of what I have achieved. My teachers at Harris Clapham Sixth Form went above and beyond to help me catch up and devoted a lot of their time to supporting me. I am incredibly grateful to them."

Healthy Relationships Workshop

This week we had a healthy relationship workshop ran by Kelly and Tazz from Tender. Tender, a Londonbased charity, conducts educational programs in schools throughout Greater London to foster healthy relationships rooted in equality and respect. Their goal is to help young people identify early signs of abuse, prevent relationship violence, and cultivate positive relationship attitudes. Through interactive drama activities, students developed empathy by understanding others' perspectives and learned about effective communication, mutual respect, and trust. The students exhibited courage, commitment, and confidence, becoming outstanding representatives for our school. This educating and empowering experience equipped them with the tools for healthier relationships. We are grateful to Tender for their impactful workshop.

See below what our students had to say:

We explored various aspects that contribute to an unhealthy relationship, such as control, manipulation, and lack of respect. Additionally, the workshops provided us with valuable information on resources and support systems available to us if we ever feel unsafe, uncomfortable, or in need of assistance. Ruweida S. 12AMC

Abuse can take many forms from economic to physical and it takes courage to speak up about it. Mohammed A. 12TSM

Is that it was eye-opening to see all the different types of domestic abuse and how it helps to understand the example and the early warning signs of abuse. And how I can give support to other who are those situations. Tye T-G. 12TPA

In these two days I have learned about the different types of abuse, early signs of abuse, and many sources to rely on for support. Agustin C-G. 12ASL

I found this workshop helpful because it made me understand more on how to deal with relationship problems for family and friends and myself. Adam F. 12OJA

I want to thank Kelly and Tazz for facilitating and Miss Padmore for supporting. The workshop was entertaining and interesting. Waleed M. 12 TSM

The workshop allowed me to explore how difficult it would be to leave relationships that have signs of abuse, and how to identify them through various ways for example, economic abuse. Yumna H. 12MMA
