The Academy’s exceptional results mean that students can now take up places at some of the country’s leading universities to study subjects such as Medicine, Architecture, Zoology, Psychology, Computer Science, Politics and Biochemistry.

Over one third of all entries achieved A*-B grades (or equivalent) with almost a fifth (19%) achieving the top A* and A grades (or equivalent).  100% of vocational students passed their qualifications with a huge 70% achieving a Distinction or Distinction* grade.

Bringing Beliefs to Life in Sociology!

Year 12 Sociology students took part in a creative and challenging revision activity for the Beliefs in Society topic. In the first round, groups restructured deconstructed exemplar essays, focusing on introductions, main arguments, analysis, evaluations, and conclusions! A great way to practise essay building skills and reflect on areas for improvement.

In the second round, students were assigned a sociological perspective and tasked with rebuilding a paragraph from that viewpoint, before filling in missing researchers and key concepts to complete the argument. Well done to Chris, Yoel, Maniyah, and Hafsa, who were the fastest team to complete both rounds accurately across both groups!
