Cognizant Moments Media Careers

80% of media jobs are behind the scenes in this linked, networked, connected world we live in.

Last night Ms Yinka O and Mr Jonathon E visited open evening to talk to students about the range of digital media careers. Cognizant are a global digital media company who employ over 250,000 worldwide in the digital media world. Yinka originally trained as an engineer but is now a Digital Product Manager for some of the biggest name in the media world – British Airways, Netflix, Disney…

Current projects involve working globally in conjunction with companies such as Germany, Australia and here in the UK.

They were at pains to point out that careers in the digital media world are not just in the entertainment sector but for the world of business too. Digital media skills are applied to the complete customer journey e.g. for British Airways this digital journey each step involving specialist professionals: from the buttons on the app, to the booking process, the check in desk and the welcome to the flight. And let's not forget ordering lunch and the in-flight entertainment.

The creation of digital media can be many things, be that designing beer bottle labels or the Netflix browsing experience, the EasyJet banner or the hospital appointment system. Not only does this process have to be client focussed but also has to be delivered over multi platforms to deliver that personalised experience for the end user.
