Subjects & timetable
At Harris Clapham Sixth Form we take great joy in our academic endeavours. We launch into the wide academic expanse with enthusiasm and appreciate how amazing our world is. We cover a wide range of subjects, both on A-Level and CTEC courses.
The total of 540 qualification hours is covered as follows:
- A-Level or CTEC learning time: 180 hours per subject (all students take 3 subjects, CTEC Media and CTEC Applied Science count as 2)
- Assembly: 12 hours
- Literacy: 12 hours
- Cultural education (year 12 only): 48 hours
- Intervention: Students receive up to two hours of intervention per week. The intervention they attend changes on a termly basis to ensure that it is tailored to our students' emerging needs.
Please note that there are 84 non-qualification hours for Year 13s and 156 for Year 12s.
The school day starts at 8.45am and finishes at 3.40pm. Students are advised to get to school at 8.30pm to allow time to prepare for class and avoid being late. Any students that arrive after 8.45am will be considered late.
The school day timetable is displayed below.

As well as subject lessons, students are likely to have:
- Cultural Perspective sessions
- Enrichment
- Assemblies
- 1-1 tutorials (when needed)
- Leadership duties (if they take on any 'formal' roles)
- Mentoring of students at Harris Clapham Academy (if they want to get involved)
- Social action work
- Visits, work experiences, guest speakers
- Independent study
