The Cambridge Technical (CTEC) in Sport & Physical Activity gives you the practical, scientific and leadership skills needed to thrive in this sector.

What you will study

Core Units (Level 3)

These build the foundation of your sport knowledge and practical ability:

  • Body systems & the effects of physical activity
  • Sports coaching & activity leadership
  • Sports organisation & development
  • Working safely in sport, exercise, health & leisure

Specialist Pathways (examples). Depending on your chosen route, you may study units such as:

  • Performance analysis in sport
  • Group exercise to music
  • Improving fitness for sport & physical activity

  • Nutrition & diet for sport and exercise

  • The business of sport

How you’ll be assessed: coursework and practical assessments; some externally assessed units; real‑world tasks such as leading sessions, analysing performance, planning events and working with clients.
