CTECs - Vocational

CTEC, or Cambridge Technical Qualification, is a Level 3 qualification, much like A-Levels but with a greater vocational focus.

These courses focus not just on results, but on educating you in the knowledge and skills required for employment. The courses are taught at a high quality with expert teaching and up to date resources. At Harris Clapham Sixth Form we offer the following CTEC courses: 

Humanities

• Criminology
• Mental Health

Linguistic & Creative Arts

• Media

Science

• Applied Science
• Sport
• Health and Social Care

Maths & Mathematical Science

• Business
• Data Analyisis

Both Media and Applied Science can be taken as double qualifications, meaning that they can be accompanied by one other qualification. Media can be taken as a single qualification (although not accompanied by double Media). Business and Information Technology can only be taken as single qualifications.

Our success stories

We take great pride in our CTEC courses, and this is demonstrated by the incredible results that our students produce year after year. In 2025, 100% of vocational students passed their qualifications, with a huge 70% achieving a Distinction or Distinction* grade. 

In 2025 Temora received an incredible set of results with D*DD and is now studying Data Science at the University of Greenwich. “The most important thing is to be confident in your abilities. The best thing about sixth form for me was finding a friendship group who are strong minded and ambitious.” 

Rhianne earned an incredible D*D in CTEC and a C at A-Level and is now in her second year studying Forensic Psychology at Nottingham Trent University. “Sixth form was stressful, but good. I would say to others – be confident and don’t give up. Keep up your faith and be strong.”
