Oscar Wilde said “Why was I born with such contemporaries?” Gore Vidal went further with “It is not enough to succeed, others must fail.”These witty comments touch on a darker part of humanity, and one of the things I love most about schools is when they challenge this.

General Updates for you

STAFFING

Our Assistant Principals (Mr Patel and Ms Heuston) started after the Easter break and are working with me in making sure everything is ready for September. Ms Heuston will also teach A level English Literature and Mr Patel (along with me, will be teaching A level Economics). You can find out more information about Ms Heuston and Mr Patel on our website (meet the leadership team).

We have recruited your subject teachers who are all looking forward to teaching you. I am preparing a separate newsletter for you with some outline ‘meet your teachers’ – this is will be added to the website! We are interviewing for the non-teaching posts next week and have lots of applicants!

COURSE DISCUSSIONS AND ACCEPTANCES

Many thanks to all of you who have returned your acceptances. There are a few students who have applied but have yet to book their course discussions. It is therefore really important that you book the course discussions as soon as possible so we are able to process any provisional offer letter. If you need to contact us remember it is info@harrisclaphamsixthform.org.uk

THE BUILDING

We visited the site again today and it is all good news – we are on track to open in September as planned. Furniture is now starting to go into the science labs on the 3rd floor. We are waiting on some updated progress photos coming through and we will put these on the website.
